The Anti-feminist Backlash

We, the feminists, are cruel. 

We, the feminists, do not bow down even if we’re proven wrong.

We, the feminists, can never know love.

We, the feminists, are too stubborn to not understand the power of passion, the sacrifices it entails. 

These are the kind of comments and allegations which are levied against us women, who choose to chisel out their own paths, paths that do not conform, paths that are deviant. 

We, the feminists, want you to know that we do not shirk away from taking the extra mile when you are unable to identify your toxic traits, your trauma responses, your emotional baggage. 

We, the feminists, have been there. We are very much willing to understand, we pray with you at the altar. We revise our opinions if proven wrong.

We, the feminists, are humans who make mistakes. We confront our biases, we identify our patterns and change them.

We, the feminists, do not believe in escape. We pick up our asses and do the emotional work straightaway. 

We, the feminists, are feminine. We do not name it ‘control’, we meet you halfway there. 

We, the feminists, are very much passionate about ourselves as much as for those we burn for. 

We, the feminists, believe in forgiveness. We shame to give you an identity if the callousness in your heart generates hatred within us. 

We, the feminists, do not keep anything within us. 

We, the feminists, surrender to nature, from whom we’re born, to whom we shall return. 

These are the affirmations we chant in unison with our sisters.
